TASK
We focus especially on problems of the elderly, people with visual impairments, motor impairments, neurodevelopmental disorders, neurological disorders (including dementia) and chronic diseases, but there are no limits – every creative solution is welcome. All Alexa Skill types are qualified for this program as long as they are useful for people with disabilities.
The event will take place on October 23-25th and will be preceded by a series of webinars given by Amazon specialists, carried out throughout October, on topics related to building modern and innovative technological solutions.

WHAT IS IT
Join Innovation@Amazon Online Hackathon – an event during which over 400 participants will build prototypes of IT solutions supporting people with disabilities and their allies (family, friends, colleagues, carers).
We are looking for the developed applications or its prototypes that will use the Amazon Alexa virtual assistant and the Alexa Skills Kit in order to support people with disabilities and their allies by increasing their well-being and inclusion.
During this hackathon, we focus on creative use of Alexa Skills’ potential in solving important social problems. Our goal is to increase accessibility of tools and services that make people with special needs lives easier, through the use of assistive technology.

Hungry for hands-on experience and practical training? Join Amazon’s workshops during the conference, led by our highly experienced engineers and architects: Max Amordeluso and Giuseppe Porcelli.
Max Amordeluso, EU Lead Evangelist Alexa, will take you through the “Alexa Skills Overview – how to create your first Alexa Skills”. Giuseppe Porcelli, Principal Solutions Architect, will teach you “How to Build your own Machine Learning application with Amazon SageMaker, AWS Glue and Amazon API Gateway”.
